King George School is a private year-round coeducational boarding high school in a rural location in Sutton, Vermont, for students with behavioral and emotional problems which have contributed to learning problems.[1]
The school opened September 5, 1998[2] It was threatened with closure in 2005 when its original parent company, CEDU, declared bankruptcy, but school officials and parents raised funds to keep the school open.[3] The school reorganized under new ownership in 2007.
The King George School enrolls students in grades 9 through 12. Enrollment is approximately 45 students.[4] The King George student is in need of guidance. The school attempts to promote the development of students' academic, emotional, and artistic selves.The curriculum is designed to try to re-kindle a passion for learning and to teach the students to share their talents.
