King Edward VIII Falls
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The King Edward VIII Falls is found on the Courantyne River in southern Guyana. It is frequently claimed to have a height of 259 metres (850 feet) but this is not the case. The King Edward VIII Falls is a series of rapids on the Courantyne River at about 640 feet above sea level. An 850' waterfall is out of the question. Satellite imagery shows a series of rapids and islands that might lose about 35' of elevation over roughly 2/3 of a mile of distance. For more information [1]
