The King's Evzone Guard was the Greek royal guard regiment in Athens from independence in 1830 until the overthrow of the monarchy in the early 1970s. In 1900 it comprised eight battalions, and survives, on a smaller scale, as the Evzones Presidential Guard. It has some 200 men.
To serve in King's Guard, nowadays presidential guard, is the highest honor for a member of the Greek Army. Watch...[1]
