Kinetic Motor Company

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kinetic Motor Company is part of the Kinetic Group, one of the most established business houses in India, well-known for its pioneering activities in the automotive industry.

Kinetic is an erstwhile JV partner of Honda (from 1984-1998) and is credited with starting a scooter revolution in India, by introducing scooters equipped with modern features like variomatic gearless transmission, self start and modern styling. Today, Kinetic stands on its own feet and competes with Honda among others in the fiercely competitive two wheeler market of India; the company also exports to other countries under its own brand name "Kinetic". In the US, Kinetic mopeds are famous as fun and economical personal transport machines.

The company, incorporated in 1970, has a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Pithampur, near Indore. It is ISO 9001 certified from DNV for all models and activities, has a strong dealership network of over 400 dealers and authorized service centers across the country and is a leading exporter of vehicles across the globe with thousands of vehicles exported to countries like the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, and Australia. It has won the Exports Excellence award nine consecutive years.

Some of Kinetic's best known products are the Kinetic 4s, Kinetic Blaze, Kinetic Nova and Kinetic Flyte.

Kinetic's "Italiano" series of scooters were acquired from Italjet Moto. The acquisition involved all global distribution rights for seven bestsellers (Jupiter, Millennium, Euro, Dragster, Formula, Velocifero and Torpedo) as well as relocation of total production lines to India. Kinetic will offer the Italian designed beauties at world-beater pricing thanks to lower manufacturing costs of India and high-volume benefits of the Indian market.

Kinetic also has partnered with SYM Motors (Sanyang Industry Co.), a leading manufacturer of two-wheelers from Taiwan and the association will introduce some of that company's scooters to India.
