Kinetic Energy (rock band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Kinetics were a rock band formed in Michigan's Upper Peninsula in the early 1960s. While playing gigs in Houghton County they paid for studio time and released a 45 rpm record locally. In time The Kinetics gained popularity throughout the upper midwest playing small venues. In 1969 they were signed to Amy Records and made one recording. The A side "Susie Q" was sung by lead singer/manager Frankie Gallis while drummer Chuck Robert's did the B side vocal "Margaret Ann". On the record, The Kinetics name was changed to Kinetic Energy. Although "Susie Q" didn't sell, The Kinetics continued playing under their original stage name until they disbanded within a couple of years.
