[edit] Deletion Notice

The deletion notice was removed prematurely; and although the article was heavily revised, the proposed reason for deletion still has not been addressed — that this subject is not notable outside the Ted Bundy case, and therefore should be merged with Ted Bundy.   • This is a very personal opinion of mine and I really hoped I wouldn't have to write it here.
While I can in principle understand your concern about notability, I think in cases like this the fact that Wikipedia is not a paper encyclopedia and therefore space is not a concern should be taken more into consideration when asking the question about enough notability:
  • How does one define the notability of a murdered child?
  • Should in a murder case the murderer be declared more notable than someone he murdered?
  • How would you feel as parent when you enter your dead childs name into an encyclopedia and the name redirects to the article about the man who murdered it? (I would in that case rather prefer the childs name completely deleted).
In a more programmatic way one could argue that Kimberly Leach is the most notable victim of Bundy because at the end he was executed for her murder (although he was sentenced to death in several cases): The official announcement stated that he had been executed for the murder of Kimberly Leach. [1]
Although I really don't think WP:BIO was written with such cases in mind, one could consider to apply Persons achieving renown or notoriety for their involvement in newsworthy events.
But anyway as I said it's just my opinion and others might well feel differently. Optimale Gu 08:00, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
