Kimi Katkar
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kimi Katkar was a popular Indian actress from the eighties and the early nineties. Katkar was a successful model before turning to films. Her first role that got attention on her, in a wet white dress, was in the 1985 Indian version of Tarzan with rubber crocodiles, plastic snakes, stuffed lions, and a stuffy Tarzan. She then did some really significant roles in well to do films. Her next big break came when she was cast opposite an angry young persona of Amitabh Bachchan as Jumma in Hum. The hugely popular song Jumma Chumma from the same movie gave a boost to her career. After doing some more singing-dancing routines in Govinda's films, as well as acting opposite Vinod Khanna in films such as Ustad and acting along with stars Sanjay Dutt and Anil Kapoor , she retired from Bollywood and married ace photographer and ad-filmmaker Shantanu Sheorey.
She was popularly noted to be the ex-girlfriend of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt.
A non-published, non-sourced news source in June of 1991 claimed Katkar is the daughter of the BollyWood actress Nimmi, but failed to offer any evidence, other than some alleged "face resemblance".
In March of 2001 Katkar agreed to do a lifestyle cum food TV show co-hosted by Karen Anand.
