Kimco Realty Corporation, (NYSE: KIM), is a Real Estate Investment Trust, founded in 1960, by Martin Kimmel and Milton Cooper, with "Kimco" being a contraction of their names, Kimmel and Cooper. It is the largest owner and operator of neighborhood shopping centers in the United States with more than 1,365 properties totaling 175 million square feet of leaseable space in 45 states, Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico and Chile. In addition, the company also serves as a property management services, which includes leasing, operation, and maintenance of real estate properties.
Kimco is a component stock in the S&P 500 and S&P 1500 Super Comp indices.
