Kimberly Ann Caldwell (born February 25, 1982 in Katy, Texas) is an American singer best known for being a contestant on the second season of American Idol, where she finished in seventh place. She currently co-hosts both Idol Chat and Idol Tonight on TV Guide Network.
Caldwell first sang publicly at age five at beauty pageants. She was a five-time junior vocalist winner on Star Search, and she also performed at the Grand Ole Opry. In 1995, she sang at the 50th wedding anniversary of former President George H. W. Bush and Barbara Bush. She also appeared on the second and final season of Popstars: USA, where she was rejected from the group and told she would do better as a solo vocalist.
Kim went on a date with American Idol winner David Cook after he asked her out on the red carpet at the seventh-season finale. Cook later said in an interview with OK! Magazine, "Kim and I went out on a date and had a good time. Past that, there’s really not too much to say. If schedules warrant, we may hang out again."[1] Nothing else is known about their relationship at this time.
