Kimberley Crossman (born May 24, 1988) is a New Zealand actress, dancer and cheerleader who is best known for her role as Sophie McKay on New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street.

Crossman starting dancing at age 3, this was encouraged by her mother Jill Arkley who is a ballet teacher. In 2006 she was Deputy Head Girl at Diocesan School For Girls in Epsom.

[edit] Cheerleading/Dance

In 2006 she danced at the Royal New Zealand Ballet's season of Giselle.[1] She was captain of the Total Cheerleading Senior Elite team in 2005 when they toured the United States and came 6th in the World cheerleading championships.

Kim is currently attending Auckland Academy of Dance training in ballet, jazz, hiphop and also competes in caberet, jazz and lyrical styles. She also works at Dance Etc where she teaches cheerleading, beginners jazz and ballet. Her older sister Rochelle Shaw runs dance classes.[2]

Recently Kimberley was part of 'Dziah 2 Dream' a 10 week program run by Dziah.[3]

In March 2008 she will be travelling around the United States of America with the Total Cheerleading Senior Elete team to compete in the World cheerleading championships.

In January 2007 she started her role as Sophie McKay on New Zealand's best known and longest running show Shortland Street.[4][5] In May 2007 she was at Auckland's Aotea Centre to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Shortland Street.[6]

In December 2007 fans on Shortland Street fansite StreetTalk voted Kimberley as Best rising star, and runner up for Hottest female.[7][8]

In 2007 along with 2 of her fellow Shortland Street co-stars Lee Donoghue and Nisha Madhan; she became involved with The Lowdown a support site for people dealing with depression [9]
