Kim Zurz

Kimberly A. Zurz of Akron, Ohio, is an American politician of the Democratic party who currently serves as the Director of the Ohio Department of Commerce, appointed in January 2007 by new Governor Ted Strickland, and was formerly a member of the Ohio Senate.
She is a graduate of Firestone High School in Akron and attended the University of Akron.
Zurz served as an assistant to the Summit County, Ohio, treasurer. She served for 11 years as a member of the Summit County, Ohio, Council, serving three terms as president of the council.
Zurz was appointed to a seat in the Ohio Senate in September 2003.
She also runs the Eckard-Baldwin Funeral Home in Akron, her family's business.
Zurz is married to Richard Zurz Jr. and they have three children.
