Kimberly "Kim" Lyons (born 5 May 1973) is an American athlete, personal trainer, nutritionist, and fitness model who has appeared on the covers of many health and fitness magazines and has also starred in the US version of the makeover-reality TV show The Biggest Loser. She originally replaced fellow trainer Jillian Michaels in season 3, but competed against her in season 4. She did not return for season 5, but may return for future seasons. She instead appeared at the 2008 Miss America pageant as a panelist, and also recently came out with a book called Kim Lyons: Your Body, Your Life.

[edit] Education

Initially intending to become an airline pilot, she attended Colorado State University and instead majored in Human Development and Nutrition (she decided to change her major because of her "love and passion for health and fitness"). After her graduation in 1995, she began teaching aerobics, which led to her competing in the famous Galaxy Fitness competition, and in 2002, she earned her Pro Card as an IFBB fitness athlete.

There were only two times in her life when she was unable to be physically fit and active. Before she began teaching aerobics, she was slightly overweight (although nowhere near obese like the people she whips into shape now) because she struggled with depression (it runs in her family), but she managed to conquer by exercising. Later, while preparing for a fitness competition, she tore her Achilles tendon, and needed seven months to recover, during which time she became a health and fitness expert.

Kim resides in Hermosa Beach, California and married German bodybuilder Gunter Schlierkamp in March 2007. Notably, she is currently the only known married Biggest Loser trainer; fellow trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper are not married. Also notable is that while Jillian and Bob are involved in the Australian version of the show, Kim is not.

[edit] Win-loss records on The Biggest Loser

She only participated in two seasons of the show (seasons 3 and 4). In both seasons, she lost. In season three, despite having two finalists as opposed to Bob's single finalist, Bob won (this would be his only victory in the main game). In season 4, her final red team member was eliminated in week 12, which left Kim without a team, and thus she, the trainer, was eliminated as well. (Bob and his blue team would also meet the same fate two weeks later, leaving Jillian and her black team to win it all.)
