Kim Dong-Sung (born 9 February 1980) is a South Korean short track speed skater, who won two medals at the 1998 Winter Olympics and has been the two-time champion at the World Short Track Speed Skating Championships (1997, 2002). Controversy surrounded his disqualification at the 2002 Winter Olympics, where it was thought that he originally won the 1500 m but was disqualified for blocking Apolo Anton Ohno.

Later that year (2002), Kim took every single gold medal in the men's category at the 2002 World Short Track Speed Skating Championships, a feat achieved by no one else in the history of the competition. In particular, he astounded spectators and competitors alike when he sprinted ahead during the 1500m race and retained his speed throughout, eventually winning the gold by finishing ten seconds ahead of the silver. He also showed a remarkable comeback in the 5000m relay, after Ahn Hyun-soo fell over with four laps to go, by regaining a 20m gap between the Canadian team and the Korean team to seize the gold medal.

Kim now lives in Washington, DC, in the United States and is the coach of the Wheaton Speedskating Club, in Wheaton, MD.
