Kim Alabaster is a character in the British sitcom Green Wing, played by Sally Bretton.

Kim works in the human resources department of East Hampton Hospital Trust, and often works with Naughty Rachel. Out of the two of them, Kim does slightly more work than Rachel, but she is still rather laid back and likes to relax with her.
She has somewhat of a bitter attitude towards most people, particularly co-worker Karen Ball. Nearly all of her abuse is targeted towards her.
On the night of Dr. Caroline Todd's housewarming party, she ended up having sex with Boyce and has since had a good, steady relationship with him. They can often be found smoking outside the hospital entrance.
Dr. Angela Hunter used to live with Kim, but then moved in with Caroline, and she herself has since left the hospital to appear on television.
In her personal life, Kim likes drinking to excess at the hospital bar, and often challenges her friends to drinking games.
When Joanna went on the run, the HR staff ran riot. Kim, as well as Karen and Rachel started to interview male members of staff by asking them to take off their trousers. Soon, a tribe formed. She was last seen with the other office girls, taking a kidnapped Dr. Martin Dear into Joanna's office.
She has a Turkish pen pal, Murat, who doesn't speak much English, meaning all they do is send each other photos and have phone sex.

[edit] Harriet, Karen, and Rachel
Rachel is Kim’s best friend. They often play rather childish games with each other, and also spend their time trying to make Karen feel uncomfortable.
She is also friends with Harriet, often helping her with her problems at home.

Like most of the staff, Joanna does not get on with Kim. As Kim is nearest to Joanna in the office, she often asks Kim first to do any sort of minor task, such as picking up a file or printing a report. However, Joanna finds Kim just as troublesome.
These are a few notes Joanna has given Kim, as listed in Green Wing - The Complete First Series Scripts:
- "Kim, zoo contacted me about the hospital sponsoring an animal. Find out if we can sponsor the Ebola virus."
- "Kim, report car stolen. (Caught speeding on way here and don't want to pay fine.) Then move car to the usual place, but make sure no-one sees you. Bring me backa a Frappe latte, Fruit pastilles and Pepto-Bismol."

Boyce and Kim first kick-off their relationship at the bar near the hospital with Rachel. After Kim wins a drinking game with him, they go to Caroline’s housewarming party. During the party, they take a shower together, then they end up having sex.
Afterwards, their relationship becomes more widely known. They make out in the corridors and Boyce even gave Kim oral sex in the office.

Apart from Boyce, the only member of the medical staff that Kim has really been involved with is Caroline, after she attended her housewarming party.
Kim has also been a victim of Sue’s tricks. When Kim found Sue’s complaints file, Sue had stolen all the documents and replaced it with a pop-up picture of a flower.

The characters who play Kim and Boyce in Green Wing also play a couple in the Uk version of 'The Office'. The two are only in the first series, but have a similar relationship to the one they have in Green Wing.
