Hi Fortunia!

Welcome to Adopt-a-User and the killing sparrows nest! I did a review of your edit history, as I do for all my new adoptees and so I have some comments about that.

First of all thanks for all your contributions to WP. Although you haven't made alot of edits, the ones you have made have been useful and have helped to improve the Encyclopedia. I especially was glad to see the comments you made on the offensive language used in the Native American article (squaws, Ugh!), thanks for helping get rid of that.

I also noticed that you are very civil on talk pages. If I have a major complaint about WP it is that there is too much gratuitous profanity and rudeness here. I'm not a prude but that kind of language and comment drives people away.

You also are near 100% for adding an edit summary. Good job!

Since you are interested in Native American articles and have the ability to write a clear, grammatically correct sentence (which makes me wonder if you went to a private school?), you might want to take a look at the articles started by -)-(-Haggawaga (|-|) Oegawagga-)-(-. You can go to his user page, click on 'History', and then click on 'contribs' next to his user name, and see the articles he has worked on. He is not a native speaker of English and I don't know about the quality of the research he has done on the articles (various Sioux chiefs), so the articles need serious copyediting at least.

Another good place to hang out is WP:CLEANUP where all the articles that get cleanup tags are listed by month. There is always a big backlog there and you can pick from the list any that interest you.

None of this is to be taken as an assignment! You are free to do (or not do) whatever you like here and ask me any questions you might have. I have created a dedicated talk page for us here so as to keep our conversations uncluttered. You should add it to your watchlist. If you like you can go there and tell me a little about yourself. I will post a copy of this message there also.

So there we are. I think you are going to be a great addition to the project and I will be very happy to help you along. --killing sparrows (chirp!) 01:15, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
