Talk:Kilo class submarine
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The caption of the Kilo in question was mislabeled. It is not the Polish Orzel but rather the Iranian Yunes.
I'm certain this is in fact the Yunes. The Orzeł has the number 291 and a white eagle on both sides of its sail. The Yunes has no such markings. Additionally, there's another picture of the Orzeł here on Wikipedia that was taken in 1993. Those markings were present then and are still there today.
It said it went faster submerged then on the surface, it didnt make sence so i changed it. i could be wrong —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.65.35.26 (talk) 17:26, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
- And I am changing it back. Modern teardrop shaped submarines are designed for underwater operation, and their hulls are more hydrodynamic when submerged then when surfaced. --OuroborosCobra 18:29, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Iran has six
The Iranian navy operates 6 kilo grade submarines. They used to operate 3 until they bought 3 more. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.80.221.225 (talk) 15:32, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
