Talk:Killing the Buddha

[edit] Reads like an ad
This article either needs major cleanup to conform with a Neutral point of view, along with justification as to why this particular webzine is notable, or it needs to be deleted. --Elonka 21:15, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
- agree -- most of this article seems to be taken from the webzine's "manifesto": http://www.killingthebuddha.com/manifesto.htm
- more importantly, perhaps, is that I came here looking for a historical and literary explaination of the phrase "killing the Buddha" and instead find an article on a webzine that has taken the phrase as its title. This is certainly not the most relevent usage. - anon
- I'm an editor of the magazine, but I don't know who posted the original entry, which I agree read like advertising.. I've added some context and some links to make it more informative. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Snopes (talk • contribs) 10:08, 7 January 2007 (UTC).
Since I cleaned up the page, someone has again proposed deletion on the basis of notability not being established. I've explained that the magazine has published numerous notable American writers and is part of a small but significant literary school that emerged in the late 1990s. I've added lots of links, and added external links to notice of the magazine from major, established media. Why is this still tagged for possible deletion? Sounds like someone has a personal bias. -- Snopes.
