I've removed the following from the article, as I can't make sense of it or see how it could be relevant (there is also some POV):

For a seriously convoluted reason, the bishop for the parish of Kilfenora is in fact the Pope of the time, and not the bishop of the diocese it should be in - the diocese of Galway

I have frequently seen the claim that the Pope is bishop of Kilfenora-particularly in tourist leaflets. I should like to see a canon lawyer historian state the evidence for the claim if it is in any sense true. (The Pope is in a sense ordinary for every diocese according to Vatican I. Kilfenora unlike other administered dioceses, e;g.
