Kiltormer
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kiltormer (Irish: Cill Tormóir which translates as Tormer's Church) is a village about 8 miles from Ballinasloe and situated in county Galway.
Kiltormer is most famous for wining the All-Ireland Hurling championship title in 1992, after a marathon semi-final where they smashed the rock of Cashel thanks to a Tony Furey goal late in the 2nd replay at Croke Park on St Patrick's day.
Kiltormer, sponsored by Offaly born Joe Hayes finally beat Birr in Semple stadium in Thurles, much to the annoyance of fellow Offaly born man Jim Gunning.
