Kilroot power station

Kilroot power station is a power station in Kilroot near Carrickfergus in Northern Ireland.
The station generates 520MW of electricity from a dual coal/oil fired plant. The plant is owned by the AES Corporation and is the only coal fired plant left in Northern Ireland.[1]

AES took over the plant in 1992 when NIE sold its four power stations in Northern Ireland.[2]
