A kilobyte per second (KB/s or KBps) is a unit of data transfer rate equal to:
- 1,000 bytes per second, or
- 8 Kilobits per second.
[edit] Kilobytes and Kilobits
There is often confusion between kilobytes per second and kilobits per second. Typically, bytes are 8 times larger than bits, so there are 8 kilobits in a kilobyte. Kilobits per second is usually expressed as kb/s or kbps, while kilobytes per second is usually expressed as kB/s or kBps
