Kilmihil

Kilmihil (Irish: Cill Mhichíl ) is a parish located in west County Clare. It contains a village of the same name with many attractions or aesthetically redeeming features. It is in the tradition of many rural villages in the western counties. The name Kilmihil comes from Cill Mhíchíl, or church of St. Michael.

Kilmihil is one of the larger parishes in West Clare, and contains many basic facilities for the local people. It is also renowed for its Holy Shrine, which attracts many pilgrims due to its blessed water. It is known for its rugged and beautiful scenery.

It has a great interest in G.A.A, and won the county championship in 1980. At underage level, it continues to be a strong player in G.A.A circles throughout the county.
