Killer (Finnish band)

Killer is a rock band founded in 1999 in Helsinki, Finland.

Killer is a group of four, with the vocalist Siiri Nordin being the most appearing member. Their debute single Hurricane was released in February 2001. In August it was followed up by All I Want, a song which came to be a hit in Finland. Later that year they also released the album Sickeningly Pretty & Unpleasantly Vain. Their second album, Sure You Know How To Drive This Thing was released in 2003, the album includes the song Naughty Boy which was a big hit and one of the most played songs on Finnish radio that summer, it also made it to number one on the MTV's Up North chart.

On February 5, 2005, Timo from the band announced on their website that they will go on an "undetermined break".

"This didn't include any great drama just normal things. First of all, we went five years in a row without a decent break so we ran out of ideas and energy. Second, we had different kinds of ideas about the direction Killer should be going, musically that is. Since we couldn't agree on this we couldn't continue."

Killer along with Kwan and The Rasmus were part of a Dynasty which joint the bands. Several members of each band have a tattoo with the Dynasty text. One can be found on both Pauli Rantasalmi (The Rasmus' Gutarist), and Lauri Ylönen(The Rasmus' Vocalist)'s arms. Dynasty was formed by Lauri Ylönen and Pauli Rantasalmi

  • Killer Aspect (The new band founded by Killer's bassist (Timo Huhtala), drummer (Teijo Jämsä) and on-tour keyboard player (Jukka Backlund), furthermore the band includes guitarist of Finnish band The Winyls (Samuli Relander) and Max Paananen (on vocals) as well as Valeri Drobych (second guitar). Jukka Backlund left the band in 2007.
