From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Killavullan Stakes is a Group 3 flat horse race in the Republic of Ireland for two-year-old thoroughbreds. It is run over a distance of 7 furlongs (1,408 metres) at Leopardstown Racecourse in late October.
Prior to 1995 it was restricted to fillies and was run over a distance of 1 mile (1,609 metres). Before 1993 it took place in mid September.
The race was formerly known as the Silken Glider Stakes, named after the racehorse Silken Glider, winner of the Irish Oaks in 1957.
