Killara High School is a coeducational government school located on Koola Avenue in East Killara, Sydney. It has around 1450 students, Killara has a strong reputation in academic achievement, music, art, dance, sport, debating and strong participation in the Duke of Edinburgh Award program.

The school's mission statement is "A Great School - Close To Home".

The current principal is Dr. Mark Carter( won principal of the year award in 2005) with Mr. Ken Hopley and Mrs. Robinson serving as deputy principals and as a result of the increase in enrollments the position of a third deputy principal has been appointed.

Killara High was the top non-selective government school for years 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 due to outstanding HSC performance[citation needed].

Subjects studied at Killara High School include English, mathematics, science, geography, history, music, sport, language - German, French, Hebrew, Chinese and Japanese and a huge range of electives.

The school has an enrollment policy which involves an area inclusive zone. Students seeking enrollment out of the area must fill out an out of area form in the school website. Suburbs in the inclusive zone include West Gordon, Gordon, East Gordon, St Ives, East Killara, Killara, West Killara, West Lindfield, Lindfield, East Lindfield and Roseville. Due to excessive enrollment numbers, enrollment is hard with the school currently at full capacity.
