Kilala Princess

Kilala Princess (きららプリンセス Kirara Purinsesu?) is a shōjo fantasy, romance, and adventure manga series that is published by Kodansha and licenced by Tokyopop in the US and Chuang Yi Publishing Pte Ltd in Singapore. The first volume in English was printed in January 2007. The series is illustrated by Nao Kodaka and written by Rika Tanaka. It is about a girl named Kilala who has to save her best friend Erica with some help from the Disney Princesses and a handsome boy named Rei, along with her peculiar pet Tippe. It has similarities to the Kingdom Hearts series. So far only 4 volumes are out in English.

A teenage girl named Kilala one day meets a handsome sleeping prince named Rei. When she bends down to kiss him and awaken him from his sleep, he abruptly stands up, but sways and falls asleep again. After she takes him to his house, Kilala realizes that Rei and his aide Valdou have come to search for a seventh princess who is the owner of a small and beautiful tiara. Later, when Kilala takes them to a 'Princess Contest' that's held in her town, her best friend Erica is crowned the winner, and Rei and Valdou think that Erica might be the princess that they were looking for. However, shortly after the coronation, Erica is kidnapped by two men in cloaks. Now, with the tiara, a newfound power of the princesses, a gateway hidden in a grove near her favorite beach, her pet Tippe, and Rei, Kilala goes to a world inhabited by Disney characters in hopes of finding her friend. At the end Kilala goes to a party and dances with Rei.

With the help of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Kilala and Rei manage to escape the cluthes of the Wicked Queen and find Erica, and everything seems to be perfect... but not quite. Kilala soon falls in love with Rei and doesn't want him to go back to his home world. Meanwhile, Erica is trying to steal the tiara of the seventh princess!

Kilala Reno - The heroine of the story, Kilala is a cheerful and energetic teenage girl who is a big fan of Disney characters, especially the Disney Princesses. Kilala hopes to become like them someday, but her clumsy and spunky attitude puts her very behind. She lives away from her parents, and wishes to meet them again someday. Her best friend is Erica and her pet is Tippe. She newly holds the power of the princesses after awakening Rei. She is enthusiastic about the world she is traveling in, but cares much more about her best friend's well-being. Kilala has things in common with otaku, a Japanese term for anyone who is obsessed with entertainment, or in Kilala's case, Disney works. Although this obsession seems useless in the real world, it comes to her aid in traveling in the Disney world.

Rei - The male protagonist of the story, Rei is a stubborn, headstrong, but well-intentioned prince who has come to Kilala's town to search for the princess of his country. Kilala tried to kiss him because she first found him asleep, and to Kilala's embarrassment, Rei remembers that event quite clearly. Kilala later finds out he's a prince.And just like Kilala, Rei falls in love with Kilala

Erica Ange - A supporting character to the story, Erica is Kilala's best friend and a model student in her school. Erika is very friendly, cute, and kind, she is very much like a princess. After she is crowned princess at the 'Princess Contest', she is kidnapped by two cloaked men and it is up to Kilala and her newfound companions to retrieve her. Soon after Kilala and Rei's adventure in Snow White's world, the duo find Erica, but she's behaving quite abnoramlly and even tries to steal the tiara of the seventh princess because the men hypnotized Erica to steal the tiara for them! Kilala then found out that Erica is controlled by the two strange men.

Disney Princesses - 6 accomplished, well-mannered, and beautiful princesses from famous Disney works, are Kilala's idols because of her wishes of finding a Prince Charming and living in a life of luxury. These princesses are Belle, Aurora, Cinderella, Ariel, Snow White, and Jasmine.
