[edit] Introduction

In case this helps you: I'm a humanitarian aid worker specialising in Eastern Europe, and have home bases of one sort or another in Scotland and England.

I've been an advocate of self-healing databases and a contributory approach to the internet since I started using global computer networks from my BBC Micro in the 1980s. I love the concept of Wikipedia and have become a frequent editor. Please feel free to communicate on any topic I've edited — I'm always keen to work collaboratively with other users.

enANY This user is pro-choice for different types of English and is against the Americanization of Wikipedia

Although "pro-choice" is a bit strong! Seriously, if it's a British topic, I use British English; I respect U.S. topics by using U.S. English there. This is in-keeping with current guidelines. I will be very grateful to other editors who also respect the guidelines and refrain from "fixing" the variant of English without valid reason.
