Kieran Murphy is a virtuoso guitarist hailing from Melbourne, Australia. Best known for his ability as a solo acoustic guitarist, he has been touring internationally since age 15, and has has recently toured the USA as opening act for Tommy Emmanuel on his '07 Summer tour to critical acclaim. Kieran has a strong funk influence, and is also following one of his mentors, Michael Franti, in the development of the singer/songwriter aspect of his act.

Kieran developed his skills of music while studying under the tutelage of Ms Jenni Farmilo and the Yarra Valley Grammar School of Music. He cites the influence and nurturing environment of the school as a key force in his creative development. Kieran also wrote the school song, 'chickenfeed'. Kieran has thus far released four albums, the latest being Per Se. Kieran wrote all tracks on his newest album. Kieran toured as opening act for Tommy Emmanuel's USA summer tour. The tour included the "Tommyfest", with Kieran once again sharing the stage with Tommy in a celebration of guitar music. Later, he toured with Michael Franti & Spearhead in Australia, and then performed with them again at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Tennessee, USA. His recent USA tour has elicited invitations to perform at European festivals.
