I've returned to Wikipedia editing now. After the Essjay controversy came out, I feel more comfortable editing here, since he was a major factor in my leaving. Lets all hope things get better from here.

Previous message here, for reference:

I'm taking a break from Wikipedia editing. Maybe permanently; I haven't decided. After one set of extreme political garbage (Xeni Jardin) then another (Nazanin), then failure to get the anti-vandalism help I needed (Gay Nigger Association of America), and then dealing with admins who don't respect or participate in resolution processes that involve their actions (User:Essjay), I'm finding myself disenchanted by the project, disenchanted by the free rein admins are given without consequences, and pretty much willing to let the vandals and egotists have their way with this project. Maybe something else will come along with better processes, after this one loses enough credibility. Or maybe it won't. If someone could let me know if/when things get better and better administrator management comes along, I'd appreciate it and then I'd be happy to participate again. I don't have much faith in this happening, though. Enjoy your editing. I hope you have better luck with it than I have.

Kickstart70 is the Wikipedia pseudonym for Greg Webster, more often known as Kickstart.

Greg Webster is a Canadian computer geek married to an American citizen and currently living in Quesnel, British Columbia to work and build a cordwood house. He is the Community Coordinator and Senior Moderator of UserFriendly, a comic strip based on the lives of staff of a small internet service provider. UF gets a buttload of hits every month (around 15 million page views), though that's not really comparable to what Wikipedia gets.

Expert in nothing (by my own estimation, some claim otherwise), but sufficiently knowledgable about Linux, system administration, internet marketing and internet community management to stay gainfully employed. I also created the OmniCode, which is rapidly gaining popularity, so I really need to update the webpage before I release version 1.0. If you have a question for me, related to the above and to help with your edits in Wikipedia, please post it here Kickstart70's Answer Page.

On Wikipedia I attempt to assume good faith, however I am often disappointed. This has caused me to distrust edits by people who are not logged in, and so the appearance of an IP address in the diffs or history of a page will likely get more scrutiny from me.
