[edit] Channel 9
WWOR/WOR was a nationally distributed in the US and Canada TV station. For the majority of the time it was refered to as "Channel 9" on air. You seem to be in Ireland, so how would you know about things in the US? The Matt Feldman Experience! 17:18, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
- I don't need to know, as in this case, its called WWOR-TV and not Channel 9. Indeed, its branded on-air as "my9", not "channel 9". Its standard to not list channels which call themselves as "Channel #" due to their VHF frequency - please look at Channel 2, Channel 3, Channel 4 (disambiguation), Channel 5, Channel 6 (disambiguation), Channel 7 and Channel 8. There seem not to be pages for any of the UHF frequencies at all, because clearly no channel is actually called "Channel 34" or similar. Many of the stations on those VHF frequencies are on cable or satellite outside their area (actually, I'd guess they're -all- on satellite by this stage), but none are listed. --Kiand 17:23, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
- You don't know and your lack of knowlege is astounding. Stick to topics you actually know about. WOR/WWOR is a very well known station in the United States and is refered to by many in the US as channel 9. The Matt Feldman Experience! 15:13, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- Still irrelevant - its importance in the US is irrelevant to the fact that we list -no- channels who have a US callsign as their official name under the Channel # pages. If you wish to challenge this long-standing arrangment, its not me you do it to. --Kiand 15:38, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Channel 9
Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. TVXPert 03:43, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- TVXpert has left this message on my talk page too, after reverting one of his edits to the Channel 9 article. He obviously hasn't read WP:VAND...content disputes are not vandalism. Kirjtc2 04:17, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- And whaddya know, TVXPert and Matt Feldman were sockpuppets of each other. --Kiand 18:37, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
I have edited dozens of articles, and met only 3 weird guys. It seems that you give others a lot of troubles. Brian W 14:41, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
- Don't comment on things you know nothing about, its better in the long run. Might be an idea to take that in to account when it comes to the state of music used in clubs for the past while too. --Kiand 20:35, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
Man, you work for the Sismi. It seems that you all haven't learnt yet the lesson of history. Brian W
- I fail to see the relevance of this accusation to anything else here? --Kiand 18:27, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Song
I caught that song before you deleted it. Its a take on a Pink Floyd song, "Pigs (Three Different Ones)", from the album, Animals. Good song though the topic, Mary Whitehouse, is a little dated now. Just so you know, in case you are not a Pink Floyd fanatic like me.--User:Lord_Chess
- Dated but still known by anyone of my age in this part of the world. However, Pink Floyd are... not, generally. Or at least not beyond "The Wall". --Kiand 18:23, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
- "Animals" came just before "The Wall"; it never gets airplay because all the songs on it are 10 minute plus epics.--User:Lord_Chess
[edit] Humour/humor
Please see [1]. The spelling started out as humor, that's what it should be. That is policy. Please don't revert without taking it to talk, and explaining why an exception to policy should be made. Thanks. --Cultural Freedom talk 21:31, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WP:UE
Hi
I saw your edits to Dublin Airport. This is the English language Wikipedia, and as a rule, the English language is used in naming. More pertinantly, for organisations such as the airport or the airport authority, names in Irish are translations and not the real name, so they are left out entirely - we don't provide French, German, Spanish or Italian translations of names where is there no official version; and this apples just as much to Irish as anything else.
There is an Irish language Wikipedia, if you want to contribute in Irish. --Kiand 14:54, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- I don't accept nor agree with your point. You're completely wrong in saying that other languages aren't used for translations on the English wikipedia. You'll find that translations of names into other languages are in thousands of articles in the English wikipedia and articles about Ireland are no different.
- In relation to your point regarding the Irish translation not being the offical name, you're wrong again. All government organisations' and semi-state company's names are in Irish or have Irish as part of the official name, the Dublin Airport Authority would be one of these semi-state companies and this is the main reason why I gave the Irish translation, so my changes to the Dublin Airport website will remain.
[edit] I can't allow young children to see it, others might be offended by it.
That is my belief. I can't afford to see any of that foul language here in Wikipedia. I believe that Wikipedia should be free from foul language, and I really don't think that use of foul language should be permitted. That is why I was forced to revert it. Cuss words shouldn't be used in Wikipedia whatsoever because there are some Wikipedians that MIGHT BE OFFENDED by the foul language and I can't allow it to happen. I had to reprimand the user for using a cuss word in the Sennheiser Talk page because of the foul language being used. I am fiercely detesting your last comment because I stand behind not putting foul language here in Wikipedia. I don't see any need to use foul language here in Wikipedia, and that's why not only I revert it because I don't want anyone to lose their innocence from reading the discussion, but I also have to "purge" the foul language edit because I want to protect those who might be offended by use of foul language. — Mark Kim (Reply/Start Talk) 05:07, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Reason for removal of your comment from my talk page
The reason why I had to remove your comment from my talk page is because the user who used a bad word at the Sennheiser talk page was abusing the No Censorship policy privilege, and that "No Censorship Policy" doesn't clearly mean that people can use foul language, and I really disagree with your views. Even Wikipedia is NOT censored means that people has to do this in good faith, and respect the No Censorship Policy as a privilege. What I had to do at the Sennheiser Talk Page IS NOT vandalism—it was a sign that someone was abusing the No Censorship Policy, and I really believe that Bad Language is NOT covered under the No Censorship Policy, so vehemently, that comment at the Sennheiser Talk page had to be deleted due to the fact that it was abusing the No Censorship Policy privilege. The last thing I want to do is to start a flame war and/or personal attack, and I did NOT invoke any personal attacks, though I might disagree with some of Wikipedia's views at times.
As much as I hate to debate with someone I have a beef with, you definitely need to discuss about bad language usage and how to rectify the situation so that bad language would not be used in Wikipedia. — Mark Kim (Reply/Start Talk) 21:42, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
Anyway, if you don't believe why I feel that who posted the latest comment at the Sennheiser Talk Page deserved to be either edited and/or deleted, please read the latest comment. — Mark Kim (Reply/Start Talk) 21:48, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Irish channels licences
I just thought I'd let you know that I was counting Irish channels to mean ones which are operated by Irish compnaies or are targeted at Ireland only; and are in Ireland. Therefore the entirety of this:
" #TWC
- ActionMax
- Movies4Men
Then theres Bubble Hits and formerly Channel 6 too. There are also the Irish services of the Viacom channels:
- MTV Ireland
- Nickelodeon Eire
- Nick Jr. Eire
- Paramount Comedy Ireland
And Sky's:
- Sky One
- Sky Sports One
- Sky News Ireland"
...would all be discounted as the second 2 lists aren't inside Ireland or owned by Irish companies (I don't think they'd qualify as Irish by any reasonable standards) and AFAIK the top list is mainly UK-targeted. By any means extremely is a bit of an innappropriate word to use in an encyclodpedia (e.g. how high a percentage qualifies as extreme). And btw, since when is there are Nick Jr. Ireland? NTL use the same as the UK, since they're UK ads. - Рэдхот 16:24, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
- Also, saying "not unheard of" does not specify whether it is a large or small percentage (since large and small are subjective) but does specify that it happens. - Рэдхот 16:29, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
- Ok the edit summary was bad. What I meant by "definitly not" was kind of "extremely? in an enyclopedia? No way" as well as the fact that I count them differently. Oh and the reason why I didn't believe you about the Nick Jr. thing was cause, it's not mentioned on the article for it either. - Рэдхот 18:04, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RTÉ Transmitters
Thanks for your comments on the links within' the channel pages for RTÉ1, RTÉ2, TV3 & TG4; I felt it was important to have a link to the first and also most powerful UHF Transmitter within Ireland. [edit] Beunited.org
A tag has been placed on Beunited.org, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable. If you can indicate why Beunited.org is really notable, you can contest the tagging. To do this, please affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page and leave a note on Talk:Beunited.org, explaining how Beunited.org is notable. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:RTEHome2005.png)
Thanks for uploading Image:RTEHome2005.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Rapture.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:36, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
