Kia Vaughn (born January 24, 1987 in the Bronx, New York) is an American basketball player. She was a member of the 2007 women’s Rutgers University basketball team that won a Big East Conference championship and was the National Collegiate Athletic Association runner-up to the Tennessee Lady Vols.
Vaughn helped Rutgers to a perfect 16-0 in the league for a Big East title. In her sophomore season she was named the All-Met Division I Women's College Basketball Player of the Year. Vaughn averaged 13 points per game, 9 rebounds per game, and 3 blocks per game. She was the only player to start and play in all of the games in the 2006-2007 season. Another impressive statistic for Vaughn is that she has 15 career double-doubles with 12 of them coming in her sophomore season. Vaughn was also a member of the 2006 USA U20 National Team that won the gold at the 2006 FIBA Americas U20 Championship for Women in Mexico City, Mexico. In the tournament she averaged 12 points and 3 rebounds in 5 games. More attention has been brought to the Rutgers program since their season ended with a loss in the NCAA Championship game. She and the other 9 players and coaches forgave Don Imus for saying the infamous words, after their meeting on April 12, 2007
