Khost (Matun) District is situated in the central and eastern part of Khost Province, Afghanistan. It borders with Mandozi and Nadir Shah Kot districts to the West, Musa Khel District to the North-West, Sabari District to the North, Tere Zayi District to the North and East, Pakistan to the South and Gurbuz District to the South ad West. The population is 121,400 (2006). The district center is the town of Khost. The Khost Airfield is situated 2 miles southeast of the town of Khost.
