The station went on the air as KWLS-FM on 1980-02-01. on 1983-04-04, the station changed its call sign to KGLS, on 1998-01-09 to KDGB, on 2003-03-17 to the current KHMY,[3] Operating at 100,000 watts from a tower height of 1,000 feet. Station began in 2002 with the Purchase by Eagle Communications, Hays, Kansas.
