Khilok (Russian: Хилок) is a town in Zabaykalsky Krai, Russia, located on the Khilok River some 261 km west of Chita. Population is 10,700 (2005 est.); 11,152 (2002 Census). It is an administrative centre of Khiloksky District and railway station.

Since the middle of the 17th century the first Cossack expeditions explored the region but Cossacks didn't found any permanent settlement because the region was highly populated with Buryats and Evenks. Peter I the Great granted wide autonomy to the local princes. Thus, the region was not colonized by Russians until the end of the 19th century when the construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway had been launched here.

Khilok was founded in 1895 as a railway station of the Trans-Siberian Railway. Khilok was granted town status in 1951.
