Khashuri

Khashuri (Georgian: ხაშური) is a town in central Georgia. It is located at around 41°59′23″N, 43°35′24″E.

Khashuri, on the Mtkvari River, was founded in 1872 as a modest railway halt called "Mikhaylovo". In 1917, it was renamed into Khashuri, but was known as Stalinisi after Joseph Stalin from 1928 to 1934. It is now part of the Shida Kartli mkhare (region) and center of the Khashuri raioni (district).
