Kharij, sometimes translated as The Case is Closed, is a 1982 film in Bengali by Mrinal Sen. It is based on a novel by Ramapada Chowdhury. It tells the story of a middle class family whose child servant is found dead, and their efforts to pacify his grieving father.
The film won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival, the Silver Lotus at the National Film Awards of India and the Golden Spike at the Valladolid International Film Festival.
