Kharba is a small town and an assembly constituency in Malda district in the Indian state of West Bengal. [1] The town is located on the western banks of the Mahananda River. Raiganj Bird Sanctuery is a toueist attraction nearby. [2]

Mahabubul Haque (Badal) of INC won theKharba assembly seat thrice in arrow defeating Anjumanara of CPI(M) in 2006, and Nazmul Hoque of CPI(M) in 2001 and 1996. Nozmul Hoque of CPI(M) defeated Mahbabul Haque of INC in 1991 and 1987. Mahbabul Haque of INC defeated Nazmul Hoque of CPI(M) in 1982. Golam Yazdani, Independent, defeated Mahabubul Haque of INC in 1977. [4]
