Khan Bahadur Cowasji Petigara

Khan Bahadur Kavasji Petigara C.I.E., O.B.E., I.S.O., J.P., was the Police Commissioner of the Mumbai Police in the 1930s and 1940s. In 1936 he was awarded the Long Service award by the Governor of Bombay, Sir Frederick Sykes at the Police Parade Grounds. On 1940-06-08 a statue of him was erected for the "valuable services rendered to the city". The statue is located near Metro Cinema in South Mumbai.
