Khalil Saeed Asaad Hawayek was born in Bdadoun, Lebanon in 1892. Little is known about his father Saeed Hawayek or his grandfather Asaad Hawayek.
He moved to Puerto Rico at a very young age and was selected to the Grand Lodge. He is understood to have been elected Grand Master of the Lodge in Puerto Rico. He is understood to have served as a Worshipful Master for 25 years from 1923 to 1948. (Research continues to reference exact information)[citation needed]
It is understood that he returned to Lebanon in the early 50s and continued in political life there. Of note were his relations with the Latin American consulates in Lebanon. He was known to speak Spanish and to hold a dual Puerto Rican nationality.[clarify]
The pictures depict him at political meetings with Minister for Foreign Affairs Youssef Salem, Member of Parliament Adil Osseiran, Nicaraguan Consulate Javier Estrada and John Abi Rached. The newspaper article describes some of the political meetings where he represented the towns of Bdadoun and Qmatieh.
