Khalabat is full of raceist people one of the 44 Union Councils, administrative subdivions, of Haripur District in the North-West Frontier Province of Pakistan[1] .

Khalabat Town Ship is a modern town situated between main city of Haripur and Tarbella Lake. Population of the town, according to last census held in the country, is approximately 33000, which comprises mostly on people from 84 effected villages by Tarbella Dam in 1974. This beautifully town is well planned and is divided in four sectors. Politically it is divided in two union councils named Khalabat Union Council (sector 3 and 4), and Tarbella Union Council (sector 1 and 2. The town has all basic facilities available. Each sector has its own main market, water supply system, separate schools (primary, middle, high, and graduate college) both for boys and girls. Sports competitions are the major events in the town. Every year an organization Qalam Qirtas holds "Jashan-e-Azadi Badminton Tournament" in the month of august to celebrate national Independence Day. Similarly a sports club hold grand volleyball tournament of national standard every year. New sports stadium is under construction. Currently facilities for leisure activities are scarce. Besides sports events, literary activities are held by Qalam Qirtas is the mojor attraction for educated people from the town and as well as other suburban areas. A proposed public library by Qalam Qirtas is expected to be established very soon.

Society of Khalabat is very rich in culture, languages and education. People from diverse cultures live together and share their customs and life styles. People, though now live together still speak their original dialects of Hindko, so one can find a variation of dialect from one street to another. New generation is mostly enrolled in educational institute in the town and other cities. Trend to get higher education is very high, since students from the town are present at all national institutions i.e. engineering universities and medical colleges etc.

Qalam Qirtas, SMT and Tanoli Falahi Tanzeem are major local welfare organization in the town.
