Khaak aur Khoon

Khak aur Khoon is a historical novel by Nasīm Ḥijāzī that describes the sacrifices of Muslims of the Sub-continent during the time of partition in 1947.

When people of different regions were trying to get to Pakistan as they were Muslims, many Hindus and Sikhs in the form of groups used to attack people during their journeys to snatch their money, jewellery of their wives and daughters. They rob every body they found in the way. Khak aur khoon not only describes how much sacrifices Muslims have given to get their own homeland, but it describes the real face of Hindus and Sikhs. On June 3,1947 Lord Mount Beton announced that district of Gurdaspur is going to be alligned with Pakistan.Muslims after listenning this guarded the homes and properties of their Non-Muslim neighbours from any sorts of riots.But Redcliff gifted this district to India to join Kashmir to India.After separation these Hindus and Sikhs instead of guarding their neighbours' home started killing Muslims.They even killed new born babies of Muslims,disgrace Muslim women and burn the houses of Muslims.This is the real face of Himdus and Sikhs. Khak aur kkhoon also tells us the dangers towards which Naseem Hijazi has pointed are coming true.And if Pakistani Muslims wanted to save their Homeland,they must be unite together.
