Audioslave article

Hello!

I've seen you had done some editing on the Audioslave in the past, so I thought maybe you are interested in helping me out with getting the article to FA status. I have completely rewritten it, added references to everything that can be challenged, added images with fair use rationales, and audio samples as well. It is currently undergoing a peer review here and also a prose review at the Alternative music Wikiproject here. So if you'd like to, you can write your suggestions to any of these pages, or feel free to edit the article yourself. I think all of the problems are grammatical now, and I'm not that good at pointing them out, or correcting them to a brilliant level, as my first language is not English.

Thank you very much in advance. Gocsa 20:32, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Hello Gocsa, I'll take a look at the article today and make some tweaks where I see they are needed. I sure hope it makes it to FA status. =) -- • Kurt Guirnela •Talk 04:39, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Re: Benigno Ramos: Bounty Hunter

I've started the article, but I have not turned any attention to it lately because of other commitments both online and offline. Did you have Pugad Baboy Sunday Comics compilation? Whether you have it or not, it'll a pleasure to finish it for me. Thank you. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 10:07, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Yep, found it in SM City Iloilo. =) Ok then, I'll finish the article for you. -- • Kurt Guirnela •Talk 16:01, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks! I really appreciate your help. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 10:06, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Whatever happened to the your progress on finishing Benigno Ramos: Bounty Hunter? Are you busy as of late? Sorry to bother you, but I'm currently busy on my own front, you know and I just want to know on the progress of the article. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 08:14, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Yep, sorry 'bout poking you for me to finish the article, however, I've been flooded with a lotta work lately, and my migraines are stacking up as well... whew. I'm working on it though. =) -- • Kurt Guirnela •Talk 08:28, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Fair use disputed for Image:Black hawk down bookcover.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Black hawk down bookcover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:33, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Mutyabuena.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Mutyabuena.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 16:08, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:TheDawnLive.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 07:44, 8 October 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BritandBeyonce (talkcontribs) 07:44, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Spiders

The contemporary definition of insect can refer to any small arthropod including spiders. Here is the definition from the New Shorter Oxford English Dictionary for insect:

1. any small invertebrate or (occas.) other cold-blooded animal, esp. with a segmented body and several pairs of legs. Now only as a loose extension of sense 2, any terrestrial arthropod.
2. Any member of the class Insecta of small arthropods which have the body divided into head, thorax, and abdomen, the thorax bearing three pairs of legs and usu. one or two pairs of wings.

Placing spiders with insects in the Template:Bloodsports would be in line with the Wikipedia policy of naming conventions using common names. Chessy999 09:20, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Is your your dad/uncle an ex-US Ranger or did you watch Black Hawk Down far too many times for your own good???

I invite you to read the discussion page about the battle of Mogadishu in 1993 in which 133 Somali militia (74 of them commando-trained) were killed and over 200 Somali civilians were killed although you would like to gloat over a ficticious number of 700 SNA militia killed and 1,000 wounded (not including thousands of civilians killed and wounded). I ought to remind you that I am a friend of a military historian and will persist in correcting this wikipedia page about the battle of mogadish in 1993 until truth prevails. -- —Preceding unsigned comment added by Firstcasualtyofwar (talkcontribs)

I always assume good faith in my fellow editors, I make no exception in your case. I do not have a problem with you editing the article as you see fit. Just for the record, I saw the movie, but I put my faith in Bowden's book, which I have read. Your being a military historian's friend has no bearing on your ability or expertise in editing Wikipedia articles. Just keep in mind that other editors will edit the article as they see fit. Cheers and happy editing! -- • Kurt Guirnela •Talk 02:41, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:Razorb1.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Razorb1.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 16:35, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
