[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Ikeda1.png
Thanks for uploading Image:Ikeda1.png. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 82.83.65.227 13:43, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Resolved
Given that you included the code in Ikeda map, releasing it under the GFDL, and you state that you created the image yourself, it is obvious that the image also falls under the GFDL. The proper tag in this situation is {{GFDL-self}} (you may also choose to use more premissive licenses). To prevent this situation from reoccuring, and save us all some time, please add a copyright tag whenever you upload an image. Cheers, Jitse Niesen (talk) 13:32, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the Tip Jitse. Was away for a while, so I could not respond! Kghose 22:52, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

Hi. Could you please have a look at Talk:Ikeda map and address the concern raised there? Cheers, Jitse Niesen (talk) 02:47, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Gaussian function
Hello. I find your 2-dimensional Gaussian function misleading, in that it implies that ALL 2-dimensional Gaussian functions have that form. But some don't. See my edits. Michael Hardy 23:05, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:HomerStranglesBart2.jpg
Hello, Kghose. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:HomerStranglesBart2.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Kghose/blicket. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 08:03, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Ap_steven_sasson.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Ap_steven_sasson.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 09:35, 13 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 09:35, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- Hi! The picture was taken from http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/business/240048_firstdigital09.html which cites its source as AP. This picture is used on several websites under the fair use provision. This can be verified by searching for "steven sasson" on google images. 14:57, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] TfD nomination of Template:Battlestar galactica

[edit] Template:Battlestar galactica
A template you created, Template:Battlestar galactica, has been marked for deletion as a deprecated and orphaned template. If, after 14 days, there has been no objection, the template will be deleted. If you wish to object to its deletion, please list your objection here and feel free to remove the {{deprecated}} tag from the template. If you feel the deletion is appropriate, no further action is necessary. Thanks for your attention. Bryan Derksen (talk) 11:00, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Ap_steven_sasson.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Ap_steven_sasson.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 22:06, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
