KFNW-FM (97.9 FM, "Life 97.9") is a contemporary Christian music formatted radio station located in Fargo, North Dakota owned and operated by Northwestern College, a Christian college in St. Paul, Minnesota.
KFNW is a non-profit radio station, receiving most of its donations and contributions from its listeners and Northwestern College. The station is also aired on several low-powered broadcast translators outside of its main listening area. The station's programming is also streamed on the Internet.
On June 1, 2007, the transmitter site used for KFNW-FM, WDAY-FM "Y94", and KRWK "Rock 102" went on fire putting the stations off the air. KFNW-FM later went on the air on a backup transmitter site at reduced power.
Northwestern College also owns adult contemporary Christian outlet KFNL "Life 92.7" in Fargo.
