[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Wikipedia.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Wikipedia.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Ddcc 15:13, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Quintura Screenshot.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. [edit] Image tagging for Image:Kids.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Kids.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Kids.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Kids.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:03, 24 April 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fritz S. (Talk) 11:03, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Additions of http://.quintura.com

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.--Hu12 (talk) 01:13, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Bias claim

Dear Hu12,

I know what advertising is and what Wikipedia is for. I'm trying to contribute an article that's self-promoting no more than other web search engine articles and broadens the topic. I took your advice and reformulated the article by citing About.com (your highly trusted resource) to make it encyclopedic and publicly valuable but even this edit didn't suit you.

Please tell me and others why Quintura's article is no better than Google, Grokker or Kartoo whose articles all have homepage links. Thanks to my contribution the List of search engines now has the Visual Search Engines paragraph.

I hope to restore the article as to what form you'll suggest to let readers know more about web search engines and that Wikipedia is NOT a monopoly domain.

KevinLocker (talk) 08:13, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia is NOT a "vehicle for advertising". Your contributions to wikipedia under KevinLocker consist entirely of creating articles and adding external links to quintura.com and is considered WP:Spam. Looking through your contributions as a whole, the all seem to be Quintura, Quintura for Kids and Quintura Kids related only. Please do not create articles or continue adding links to quintura.com to Wikipedia. It has become apparent that your account and IP's are only being used for spamming inappropriate external links and for self-promotion. Wikipedia is NOT a "vehicle for advertising" and persistent spammers will have their websites blacklisted. Any further spamming may result in your account and/or your IP address being blocked from editing Wikipedia. Please see the welcome page and Wikipedia:Civility. Avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines. You're here to improve Wikipedia -- not just to promote quintura.com right? --Hu12 (talk) 15:43, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the reasoning. Now I see the point. So can you please with all your authority and expertise write a Quintura article yourself thus improving Wikipedia lest someone like me should do it? --KevinLocker (talk) 07:52, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
