Kevin Zaker was born on December 12, 1990 in Naperville, Illinois. He was born in Edward's hospital, in a section of the hospital that is now destroyed. Until he was about the age of three, he lived in a small community south of US Route 33 (Ogden Avenue). He shortly moved to the Oakhurst subdivision, less than 5 miles away. In the fall of 1995, he enrolled in Reba O. Steck elementary school, where he attended until the summer of 2002.

In the fall of 2002, he enrolled at Francis Granger Middle School, where he entered the gifted program known as Project Arrow. As a Project Arrow student, he grew more confident in his abilities and began to write. In May of 2005, he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, which troubled him greatly, and added struggle to his life. In the fall of 2005, he enrolled as a Freshman at Waubonsie Valley High School, where he became a student in the honors program. At the end of 2005, he traveled to London, England for Band and marched on New Year's Day for the 20th anniversary of the New Year's Day Parade.

Kevin enjoys the fine arts, and plays guitar, piano, and percussion.
