[edit] Slobodan Milosesvic

Why does Slobodan Milosesvic redirect to this?

Why shouldn't Slobodan Milosevic redirect to this? I am shocked that you ask. Alexander 007 05:07, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Multiracial?

A mixture of white european nationalities does NOT mean multiracial! I demand proof that he is multiracial - thedcm

Not multiracial, unless the French element were Creoles. Alexander 007 05:07, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
Even then, it would be a stretch, depending on the definition assigned to Creole in the overall context...Kevin Covais is white, though. Michael 06:27, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hot page!

There's about an edit a minute going on here, about half of which are vandalism. I would hope we don't need to protect the thing. WesleyPinkham 04:42, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] NYSSMA Festival News

Reading about the bit that said about the NYSSMA Festival, a friend of mine was the Chairperson of the room. She kept track of what happened inside and outside of the room. Other than her, it was common knowledge to people in Syosset High School. I believe after walking out of the room, he was said to have been bragging about getting a perfect score and calling the Judge's children. skilanky64 3:28, 4 June 2006

Wow...that place makes my Newsweek Top 100 high school look like crap... Anyway, I think it's fine, inasmuch as it's believable and confirmed by a WP editor. The tag should stay, though, in case it ever appears in writing somewhere. --zenohockey 01:34, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Truth, but how to cite??

How do you prove that something like that is true? I know Kevin, and I've seen the pogs and heard the story. If there was a newspaper article, or a picture, I'd send it to you, but I don't have anything like that. I don't know what to tell you, but it is true. I just guess I can't really prove it. But how do you prove someone collects designer pogs, or that they met Dolly Parton, other than asking them - which, technically, I have.

I guess knowing him makes me feel slightly better about it, but the problem is that it is original research (which is one of the only policies on Wikipedia; see - WP:NOR). The details of Parton and pogs just seemed ... suspicious without any citation, especially coming from an anonymous IP account (which are often used for vandalism). I hope you understand. I guess I'll leave it up for now, but I'll add back the "citation needed" in case someone comes by it. (P.S. When commenting on talk pages, sign your post - you do that with the button that looks like a signature, 10th from the left on my computer.) --Hamiltonian 04:01, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
I'll send him a message through his Myspace page; if he finds it buried under the zillion love letters/hate mail he hasn't sorted through yet, we'll have a written record. --zenohockey 02:01, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

I think most of this would come under original research - and that's assuming good faith... Until someone can cite some of this, I'm removing it. Same with the middle name. --Elliskev 20:52, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

I've added a rather prominent HTML comment at the top of the edit page, reminding would-be editors to have verifiable sources. (It would be rather unfortunate if a family gave one kid a middle name like Barnaby and another a first name like Mitsy ... no offense, anyone) --zenohockey 21:09, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
...I've revised that comment to encourage anyone who might know Covais to have him contact an editor if they have an unsubstantiated fact. If we can't beat Britannica when it comes to science, we should certainly do everything we can to cover celebrities thoroughly. --zenohockey 22:18, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Finally

I sort of look like him, so I got a lot of 'Hey are you that guy from American Idol?' type comments, and those should subside very soon. Thank allah he got kicked off, and rightfully so. PirateMonkey 02:33, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

I disagree—he was much better than most of the other contestants week in and week out. I guess people don't want "cute" singers (unless they're prepubescent-looking women). And for the record, his dance moves to "Part-Time Lover" were the best in the show's history.
Someone has to say it... --zenohockey 04:23, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Eddie Brock

To understand this you kinda have to know about Spider-Man, but I think Kevin Covais looks like a good...Eddie Brock? I don't know why, but he reminds me of Eddie Brock. Whadda you think?-Jedizati 16:18, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

This Eddie Brock? Um... I guess...
I think this could become the new Rorschach test...tell a psychoanalyst what you see when you look at Kevin's face—a cartoon character, or...a different cartoon character. --zenohockey 18:31, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

but, I mean, throughout American Idol you've never seen Kevin angry! What would he look like if he was really mad? Eddie Brock, if you ask me-Jedizati 12:36, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

You're smoking crack. Kevin looks like George W. Bush. Alexander 007 05:03, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
No offense, but are you obsessed with saying something sarcastic about him at every opportunity? This is number 4 (the edit description + three on this page) by my count. --zenohockey 17:14, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
Oh please, popping in one day and taking shots at Kevin is quite healthy; constantly editing his article and his talk page as you do, however, may be construed as an obsession. BTW, if you're going to have an obsession, at least choose Britney Spears or Jessica Alba or something :-) Alexander 007 18:39, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
No need to get defensive, Alex (and for what it's worth, any definition of "healthy" that involves taking shots at people is negated from the get-go in my view). Britney's page is already bigger than Hegel; she doesn't need anyone's help. I follow the AI goings-on, and I'm here...so I contribute what I can. Not really the sort of thing you should be giving people shit about. --zenohockey 22:55, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
From what I recall, you're the one who brought up the word "obsession" into what was just a late night session of light-hearted jabs. Even the edit summary said nothing that Simon Cowell hasn't already said. He emphasized numerous times that the kid was awful, couldn't sing, etc.; and on an Extra! Simon said he'd quit the show if Kevin went on to become Idol... only kidding? Probably not :-) Alexander 007 23:06, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
Yessir, nothing like "late-night sessions" with America's sex symbols: Kevin Covais, Britney Spears, and Jessica Alba... ;-)
Was Cowell joking? Who knows, but he does get paid tens of millions of dollars to insult people; he even bad-mouthed his greatest success, Kelly Clarkson, when she didn't mention the show after winning a Grammy. Maybe he can hire you to be his Wikipedia alias. --zenohockey 23:59, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Jimmy Kimmel Live

I'd like to add some more details on Covais' Jimmy Kimmel Live appearance, but I didn't see it. Does anyone have a transcript, some quotes, or even just a description of what he said (beyond that he wants to continue singing)? --zenohockey 23:59, 27 March 2006 (UTC) (cross-posted at Wikipedia:Village pump (assistance)#Kevin Covais on "Jimmy Kimmel Live")

Never mind; it's on YouTube. --zenohockey 17:05, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New awards

FYI, he's getting the key to Nassau County, New York and having the county executive declare tomorrow "Kevin Covais Day." You might want to add that in; I'm not because I can't stand the stupidity. Is the world getting dumber? --Rory096 17:16, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

Stupidity of what? Michael 02:59, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
