Kevin of the North (2001; released to video in 2002 as Chilly Dogs) is a movie about an Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. Kevin Manley, played by Skeet Ulrich, must participate in the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race to inherit property from his grandfather.

When Kevin Manley (Skeet Ulrich) receives the message that his grandpa died and left everything to him but he has to come to the Alaska for that.
He leaves Canoga Park (L.A.) and goes to Anchorage. He finds out that if he proves he is a Manley by participating in the yearly Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race he can have the land that his grandpa left him if he doesn't run in the Iditarod he won't get the land.
In Alaska he meets some other participants, the beautiful Bonnie Livengood (Natasha Henstridge), the stupid English Carter (Rik Mayall), ex-sheriff Ned Parker (Lochlyn Munro) and he meets the local attorney Clive Thornton (Leslie Nielsen) who told him that he has to win the dog race to get the land his grandpa left him. What Manley does get is a box with stuff from his grandfather, where he finds his grandpa's diary and he reads that his grandpa and a man named Livengood (the same name as Bonnie) found gold and his grandpa put the map in a place close to his hart. Meanwhile Clive and Carter try to stop Manley from winning the race in order to get the land.
Who will win the race? Will they find the gold and what will happen to Clive Thornton?
