[edit] Career
[edit] Combat Zone Wrestling (2004-2006, 2008)
Kevin Steen made his CZW debut on September 11th, 2004 at an event called High Stakes. He lost in a fatal fourway match featuring El Generico, Excess, and Sexxxy Eddie who was victorious in that match. He continued to make appearances with CZW and soon began teaming with El Generico against Super Dragon and Excalibur.
On May 14th, 2005 he competed in the CZW Best of the Best tournament and did well in it defeating Kenny The Bastard in the 1st Round and Chris Hero in the 2nd round. However he was unable to clench the trophy as he lost in the Finals, which was a Fatal Fourway match B-Boy, Super Dragon, and Mike Quackenbush who won the match.
A few months later in August Kevin Steen won his first (and thus far only) championship in CZW. He pinned Franky The Mobster to win the CZW Iron Man Championship. He went on to defend the championship in individual matches against Nate Webb, El Generico, Chris Sabin, and Super Dragon. He also defended it in a match involving Necro Butcher, DJ Hyde, B.J. Whitmer, and The Messiah.
In an all out cage match held at CZW Trapped between The Canadians, BLK Out, The Forefathers of CZW, and Eddie Kingston, Kevin Steen lost his Ironman Title to fellow Canadian wrestler LuFisto. He lost the championship one day shy of having a year long reign. He then departed for a tour with Dragon Gate, a promotion in Japan, and didn't return to Combat Zone Wrestling until February 2008, when he fought Vordell Walker to a no contest.
[edit] Ring of Honor (2007-Current)
Kevin Steen has found a great deal of popularity and success now in ROH. Thanks to an unorthodox tag team with El Generico and an highly rated tag team feud with the Briscoe Brothers. The feud was highlighted on ROH's first PPV's and featured some of the best tag team wrestling the company has ever put forth. The two teams competed in Ring of Honor's first ever ladder match which left fans giving the four men a standing ovation. Steen and Generico have since turned face and moved onto a feud with the Hangmen Three stable.
