Kevin Rutkiewicz (born May 10, 1980 in Glasgow) is a Scottish professional footballer of Polish origin, currently playing for St. Johnstone, for whom he signed from Aberdeen in the summer of 2004.
It was at Aberdeen that Rutkiewicz began his professional career after joining from junior side Larkhall Thistle. In his six years at Pittodrie, he played mainly in the reserves. He made his professional debut in November 1999 in a 2-0 loss at Hibs and scored his first goal against Edinburgh's other club, Hearts, the following season.
Rutkiewicz' breakthrough season came in 2002-03 when he played in the majority of the Dons' games between October and February.
He became then St. Johnstone manager John Connolly's first signing for the Perth club in June 2004. He scored his first goal for Saints in a 3-0 win over Queen of the South in the league cup two months into his St. Johnstone career.
He signed a new two-year contract at the end of 2005-06, but will miss all of 2006-07 due to an injury.
In his first game back, on August 11, 2007, he scored a goal in Saints' 2-2 draw with Stirling Albion at McDiarmid Park.[1]
